Expect to focus on different variations of Pranayama (breath) throughout the class and to move intentionally placing emphasis on function of the pose versus the form of it. I always try to share ways in which you can take what you learn on the mat, off of it, so expect to start to bring your practice into your everyday life.
I was a super active kid and teen playing hockey, rugby, field hockey, figure skating, horseback riding and skiing. During my time at University I walked into my first Bikram yoga class and was devoted to the practice for 6 solid years before finding other types of yoga. I absolutely fell in love with Vinyasa and after practicing for two years I embarked on my journey as a yoga teacher. Outside of yoga, my fitness regime looks a lot like biking around the city, trying to tire out my 75lb Rottweiler and going to spin to burn off steam.
Well yoga, duh. Other than that I love incorporating Barre, HIIT, Pilates and Spin to balance out all the yoga that I do.
This might sound out there, but I truly believe that random dogs on the street know I am a dog lover and give me knowing looks. I often lock eyes with dogs for 5+ seconds until I ask their owner if I can pet them. So basically, I am a dog whisperer.
